Handle in a capable and efficient manner patients during the preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative phases of surgery, recognizing and/or correcting the metabolic abnormalities that may occur.
Perform the most frequent surgical procedures in the field of General Surgery, recognizing and respecting the limits of surgery, as a standard norm of their work.
Diagnose and establish the initial therapeutic measures in patients with illnesses or injuries that are targeted for intervention by surgical specialists.
Participate in the integration, transfer and development of knowledge generated in the specialization field, through processes of teaching and research.
Respond quickly and compassionately to both patients and their families, with a deep respect for their needs as human beings, regardless of their position or social, cultural or economic status.
